Ya’ll, when I said this year (2022) would be my year of traveling, I didn’t expect to be traveling to Dubai for the first time. Honestly, I had a list that I wrote out back in January 2022, and Dubai was no where in sight. Needless to say, when the opportunity approached me, I had no problem adding it to the list. After a week of my mind being blown away by the second, I’m ready to share my experience, places to eat, party and see in this First Timers Guide to Dubai.
Where to Eat & Drink
So for all my first timers traveling to Dubai, if you’re a big drinker, downtown Dubai isn’t the best place for you to parlay. There are some places that serve alcohol downtown but not many. Nonetheless there are plenty of restaurants with delicious mocktails, and I’m not even joking! The best advice I can give is to check the menu, and even call the restaurant before you go just to get clarity on everything. Outside of that, you can pretty much run into places to eat if you want to be surprised.
Where to Fun
Dubai Desert Safari Tour Take a Desert Safari Tour with your choice of transportation- quad bikes, helicopter, camels, sand boarding and more! Let me just say, traveling to the desert owes me nothing, it looks and feels just like the picture but 100x better!
Museum of the Future While you’re in Dubai, you’ll notice how far advanced some of their technology is. It’s pretty cool, even the buildings look a lot like something out the movies. If you’re into that kind of stuff, you definitely want to make your way to the Museum of the Future!
Aura Skypool I have one word, VIEWS! And honestly who doesn’t love a view from the pool?
Dubai Mall Fountain Show Located right outside the Dubai Mall (you cant miss it) you’ll get to enjoy the the best fountain show ever. During the weekday shows begin at 6pm and occur every 30 minutes until 10:30pm and on weekends starting at 6pm until midnight. You can enjoy the show from the boardwalk for FREE or from a boat for a fee.
Burj Khalifa The VIP experience at the TALLEST BUILDING in the world is where you can go to the highest floor & have access to a private terrace, and unlimited tea, and coffee. There’s also a light Show- Running every Thursday, Friday, Saturday until 10:45pm
Old Dubai When you travel to Old Dubai, it’s less tourist and more culture. Also you’ll find Museums, affordable markets, and less expensive restaurants.
Where to Stay
Honestly, this is where you should stay if you’re looking for an energetic vibe. There’s live music, parties, and poolside service. Also, you’ll have direct access to the beach, and other restaurants on the stip. On the flip side, it is about a 30 minute taxi right to Downtown Dubai.
Where to Shop
Dubai Mall Literally the largest mall in the world. Thats it. That’s the tweet!
Global Village– showcase of each country around the world, showing off their food and clothing
This market is popular for low prices and bargaining with sellers for the best deal. You’ll find everything from traditional garments, scarves, wraps, dupes and more!
Bye Dubai
This trip was by far the best I’ve ever been on, I’d definitely rate it 10/10 highly recommend. If you’ve traveled to Dubai before and you want to share something that’s not on this guide please DM me and I’ll add it to the list.
