Kmonaefierce It’s a Hot Girl Somos
Hot girl summer may be over, but Hot Girl Somos is just getting started! Thanks to the entire Bonita Project team and r29somos, I got to cross “Go to a Y2k Party” off my bucket list. I attended the Hot Girl Somos Party in Brooklyn, New York, at Vice Headquarters and it was phenomenal. Celebrating 5 years of The Bonita Project with some of my favorite influencers was the perfect way to spend my evening. Come with me for a full recap of how this hot girl gets down.
A Somos Recap
Guess who got to relive/live their best life like she was taking over for the 99’s and the 2000’s? This Southern Belle x Jersey Girl! As soon as I arrived, I took a full tour of the party. There was an italian ice station, delicious guac & salsa station, makeup touch ups, and of course cocktails/mocktails! Not to mention the 2000’s photobooth, and a very special guest, DJ Agent DMZ, who brought us afro-latina vibes all night.
So, I’m ngl (not going to lie), I was completely fangirling over every one’s version of 2000’s outfits, hair, and makeup! It was so surreal to reenact this moment as an adult. I remember when I was younger, I watched my older sister and her friends go out and party in this era. They had big gold hoops, waist belts, and their lips were always glossed up #mattewhere. Now look at me, eating the girls up in 2023.
After spending some time reminiscing on pinterest, I knew exactly what I wanted to wear. For starters, my number one rule is to always rep my brand so the airbrush shirt was the statement piece. I had it made locally, downtown, Newark, NJ off of Market street. Then I paired my “Kmonaefierce” shirt with a Levis mini skirt, accented with a chain belt. Last, but not least, I had on my hot pink platform strap up heels with my sequence bag. Needless to say, the out was outfitting!
